On June 26, 2021 the Run for Cash Memorial 5K will be held in Old Orchard Beach, ME. Capt. Christopher Scott Cash Sr., died June 24, 2004, in heavy fighting in Iraq while serving in the N.C. National Guard. He was one of three U.S. soldiers who died in Baqubah, a town 35 miles northeast of Baghdad. This is a fundraiser for the Capt. Christopher Scott Cash Memorial Scholarship. Wreaths Across America is asking Americans to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks by standing outside and waving an American flag for one minute at 8:46am, 9:03am, 9:37am, and 10:03am, marking the times that the planes crashed into the towers, Pentagon, and into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Join the American Heritage Girls and Trail Life at New Life Church in their fundraising efforts to ensure the headstones, and heroes, at Columbia Gardens Cemetery (VACOLU) are not forgotten on Wreaths Across America Day 2020. Our goal is to raise funds for 400 wreaths to cover more than half of the stones at this cemetery, with a stretch goal to cover all 700 headstones. With your registration, a wreath is automatically purchased for this amazing opportunity.
